Cuba's Giron victory marked in HCM City

The Ho Chi Minh City Chapter of the Vietnam Union of Friendship Organisations on Apr. 18 held a get-together to mark the 51 st anniversary of Cuba's Giron victory (Apr. 19).

Gabriel Perez Tarrau, Cuban Consul General to Ho Chi Minh City , saidthis year’s celebrations of the Cuban Giron victory took place at animportant time for the bilateral ties between Vietnam and Cuba ,marked by the recent visit to Cuba by Vietnamese Party GeneralSecretary Nguyen Phu Trong.

The visit contributed to boosting the special friendship between the two countries, he added.

HoangThi Khanh, President of the Ho Chi Minh City Chapter of theVietnam-Cuba Friendship Association said that the Giron victory was avictory for justice and pledged to try her best to develop friendshipand cooperation between Vietnam and Cuba.-VNA
