Prague (VNA) – A “Vietnamese Cuisine Day” was recently held in the Slovakian capital of Bratislava with the aim of introducing Vietnamese traditional dishes to international friends.

The event, organised by the Vietnamese Embassy in Slovakia in collaboration with a vocational school of culinary and hotel services in Bratislava , drew the attendance of several ambassadors to Slovakia as well as correspondents from the News Agency of the Slovak Republic (TASR) and the Markiza television station.

Under the instruction of members from the Vietnamese Womens Association, about 20 students from the vocational school prepared Vietnamese traditional and popular dishes, including spring rolls, Pho ( noodle soup with beef or chicken) and sweet soups.

It is expected that the Vietnamese Ambassador to Slovakia Ho Dac Minh Nguyet will attend a live TV show to introduce Vietnamese culture and gastronomy on Markiza TV later this month.-VNA

Russia – Vietnam cultural centre grows into hub for cultural exchange

With support from Saint Petersburg’s Committee for External Relations and the “Tradition and Friendship” Fund for Russia – Vietnam cooperation, more than 500kg of books were shipped to the Russia – Vietnam Cultural Centre at the Herzen State Pedagogical University, including publications on Vietnamese history and culture, as well as Vietnamese-language learning materials for overseas Vietnamese (OVs) and foreign learners.
