The Czech Government and the Communist Party of Bohemia and Moravia support the deeper integration of Overseas Vietnamese into the host community and encourage Vietnamese-Czechs to run in local elections.
The Moravia party, in particular, has actively adopted policies to enhance the traditional friendship and cooperation between the two countries, said Chairman Vojtech Filip during his working session with Ha Thi Khiet, Party Central Committee Secretary and head of the Party Commission for Mass Mobilisation, in Prague on August 19.
The Vietnamese official thanked the Czech Republic for its provision of official development assistance (ODA) for Vietnam as well as supporting the Vietnamese, who have been recognised as a minority group in 2013, to integrate into mainstream activities.
She said she hopes that 65,000 Vietnamese in the East European country will help develop the long-standing friendship and cooperative ties between the two countries.
Khiet told her host about the East Sea issue and Vietnam’s persistent stance and determination of safeguarding the nation’s territorial sovereignty by peaceful means and in line with international law.
The Czech Party Chairman supported Vietnam’s settlement of disputes in the East Sea at multilateral and international forums.
The same day, Khiet had a working session with officials from the Vietnamese Embassy in the Czech Republic.-VNA
