Covering an area of 150 hectares, the Hoa Cam industrial park has 66 operating enterprises. To effectively carry out the city’s policy on improving investment attraction in 2018, besides general policies, the park’s managing board has made up specific plans to lure more investors.
“All the capital resources to invest in infrastructure with the remaining area have been prepared, the company will also speed up site clearance works for investors,” said Dinh Duy Chinh, Deputy Director of Hoa Cam Industrial Park Investment Joint Stock Company.
To date, industrial parks in the city have attracted more than 400 investment projects, of which 100 are foreign invested ones, creating jobs for over 74,000 labourers in the locality and vicinities.
The city has planned to develop 2 more industrial clusters to attract small and medium sized enterprises.
Tran Van Son, Director of the municipal Department of Planning and Investment said: “The plans to develop 2 new industrial clusters to attract more small and medium sized enterprises while clearing away enterprises which pollute the surrounding areas.”
Besides industrial area, the city will continue to take measures to strengthen investment attraction and tourism in 2018. The city hopes to welcome 7.5 million tourists in 2018, an increase of 13 percent compared to 2017.
According to Nguyen Xuan Binh, Deputy Director of the municipal Tourism Department, the department had plans to submit to the city’s authorized bodies focusing on promoting investment in tourism products, including developing souvenir products and tourism infrastructures like night market, night streets, pedestrian zones to meet demand of tourists.
Infrastructure will be a major point to develop socio-economic growth; the city will continue to take concrete measures to magnetize human resource to develop infrastructure.
Deputy Chairman of Da Nang city People’s Committee Nguyen Ngoc Tuan said:
“To ensure economic development in the future, it’s necessary to upgrade transport system by building integrated urban areas, improving water and coastal environment, treating sewage and solid waste, among others.”
From the success of 2017, especially important events such as hosting the APEC Economic Leaders’ Week, the city’s policy to improve investment attraction in 2018 has created enthusiasm for locals and business community. It’s also a crucial element which enables the city to realize opportunities into driving force to develop in years to come./.
