Da Nang pilots database on COVID-19 patients

– The Department of Information and Communications ofcentral Da Nang city said on August 6 that it has piloted a database onCOVID-19 patients.

Thedatabase, available at www.opendata.danang.gov.vn or https://congdulieu.vn, will enable usersto access information about COVID-19 patients, links among them and places theyhad visited.

Thedatabase will make it easier for management agencies and the health sector to sortpatients on the basis of their residence, gender and age, as well as theirmedical history.

Earlier, theAuthority of Information Technology Application at the Ministry of Informationand Communications (MIC) has suggested those with smartphones downloadBluezone, a Bluetooth-based app that helps determine if a person has come incontact with a COVID-19 patient.

The contracttracing app, developed by tech firm Bkav, uses Bluetooth Low Energy, a wirelesspersonal area network technology, to link with smartphones within a two-meterdistance.

 If a user is positive for SARS-CoV-2 (known asperson F0), health authorities can identify those who had close contact with thatperson (known as F1), and the system will alert them about the risk ofinfection.

They will bealso provided with instructions on contacting health authorities forassistance./.

Remains of Vietnamese fallen soldiers, experts repatriated from Laos

The remains of 12 Vietnamese volunteer soldiers and experts, who laid down their lives in different periods in Laos’ Savannakhet province, were repatriated following a handover ceremony on May 21. They will be re-buried at the Road 9 National Martyrs Cemetery in Vietnam's central province of Quang Tri on May 22.

Nghe An reburies martyrs' remains repatriated from Laos

Vice Chairman of the provincial People’s Committee Phung Thanh Vinh said that carrying a noble international duty, many Vietnamese volunteer soldiers and experts heroically joined Lao people in their struggle for national liberation and independence. Many of them sacrificed their lives in the country, including more than 12,000 soldiers laying down in the three provinces of Xaysomboun, Vientiane, and Xiangkhouang.
