Da Nang promotes sustainable tourism development

The development orientation aims at promoting Da Nang to become a leading tourist and service destination in the region, a city events and a centre of international conferences.

Hanoi (VNA) – The People's Committee of central Da Nang city has issued a plan to implement Program No. 38-CTr / TU dated January 31, 2020 by the Standing Committee of the City Party Committee on the implementation of a programme themed "focusing on tourism development and high-quality services associated with resort real estate; building Da Nang into a leading tourist, service destination at regional level, a city events and a centre of international conferences."

The plan includes innovation, raising awareness of tourism development, plans to develop Da Nang tourism in a sustainable manner and in harmony with nature and the environment, while balancing land fund and location for tourism development with other economic sectors.

The plan also specifies the building of tourism development mechanisms and policies in line with the orientation of Resolution No. 43-NQ/TW as well as the potential strength of the city, encouraging the development of high-quality tourism products associated with resort real estate while promoting investment attraction, creating a favorable investment environment for businesses.

At the same time, the city will promote linkages on the basis of exploiting and promoting potentials and strengths of the locality as well as regional advantages; strengthen tourism promotion and hosting of international and regional events in order to turn Da Nang into an event city and international convention center; building a tourism environment and raising awareness of the tourism environment protection for staff working in the tourism industry, businesses and people.

In addition, the city develops and improves the quality of tourism human resources and service quality; promote tourism management, effectively implement decentralised activities, authorise the state management of tourism.

Agencies which are assigned to carry out specific tasks in the plan should have the responsibility to monitor, supervise and synthesise the implementation of assigned tasks; periodically report to the City People's Committee about the annual implementation progress.

Based on approved plan, the assigned agencies will take their initiative to develop the annual operational contents, propose budget estimates to ensure effective implementation of assigned tasks, send to the city’s department of finance for appraisal, and ask from the City People's Committee to arrange funding in accordance with regulations.

Da Nang city has many potentials and favorable conditions for tourism development. With the advantages of international seaports and airports, the gateway to and from world heritage sites in the central region, along with rich and diverse tourism resources, beautiful beaches, and synchronous infrastructure system serving tourism, safe tourism environment, Da Nang has become a safe and friendly destination for tourists.

Da Nang is also known for its beautiful bridges such as Han river Bridge, Thuan Phuoc Bridge, Dragon Bridge and Tran Thi Ly Bridge. Besides, the city has a favorable geographical location, surrounded by high mountains with Hai Van pass, the west of Da Nang is Ba Na Hills Tourist Site - one of the places with great potential to attract tourists; in the northeast is Son Tra peninsula with many impressive destinations that tourists cannot miss such as Linh Ung Pagoda, Ban Co Peak and beautiful beaches stretching from Son Tra peninsula to Non Nuoc while in the city’s southeast is the scenic Marble Mountains.

Da Nang also has a system of famous cultural institutions such as the Museum of Cham Sculpture, Da Nang Museum, Museum of Fine Arts, Con Ga Church, attracting a large number of tourists coming to visit and learn about value of Vietnam’s central region./.
