Da Nang serves nearly 329,000 visitors during Tet

The central city of Da Nang welcomed 328,810 visitors during the nine-day Lunar New Year (Tet) festival 2019 (February 2 -10), a year-on-year increase of 10.7 percent.

Da Nang (VNA) -  The central city of Da Nang welcomed 328,810 visitorsduring the nine-day Lunar New Year (Tet) festival 2019 (February 2 -10), ayear-on-year increase  of 10.7 percent.

According to the municipal Department of Tourism, attractive sites included theCham sculpture museum, Ba Na Hills, Da Nang Museum, Than Tai mineral water park,Sun World Da Nang and Son Tra - Linh Ung pagoda.

The number of international visitors to DaNang during Tet hit 158,328, up 19.9 percent compared to the same period lastyear.

Deputy Director of the department Truong Thi Hong Hanh said this time is peak tourismseason for the markets of China, Japan, the Republic of Korea (RoK), Europe andAmerica, and Vietnamese expats.

The increase of holiday-makers to Da Nang is also attributed to the recent operationof international air routes from Incheon, Busan and Daegu of the RoK to DaNang, Osaka- Da Nang, Bangkok - Da Nang, and Doha - Da Nang.

Da Nang has become a destination forboth domestic and foreign tourists thanks to its location near world culturalheritages, diverse tourism products and a port system which can serveinternational cruise ships.

The city aims to welcome 8.19 million visitorsthroughout 2019, up 6.9 percent year-on-year, which includes 3.19 millionforeigners, an increase of 11 percent. The tourism sector aims to gross 27.4trillion VND (1.18 billion USD) in revenue, up 13.9 percent against theprevious year.-VNA

Vietnam to waive visas for citizens from 12 countries

The resolution clearly states that citizens of Germany, France, Italy, Spain, the UK, Russia, Japan, the Republic of Korea, Denmark, Sweden, Norway and Finland will be exempted from visas for a temporary stay period of 45 days from the date of entry, regardless of passport type and purpose of entry, on the basis of fully meeting the entry conditions as prescribed by Vietnam’s laws.
