Hanoi (VNA) – Minister of National Defence Gen. Phan Van Giang received visiting Ministerof State of the Cambodian Ministry of the Interior Gen. Sante Chan Ean in Hanoion December 14.

The hostofficial congratulated Cambodia on its successful organisation of diplomaticand military - defence events in the ASEAN Chairmanship Year 2022.

He notedVietnam has also successfully held the Vietnam International Defence Expo 2022,thanking the Ministry of National Defence and the Royal Army of Cambodia forsending high-ranking delegations to the event.

During the Vietnam -Cambodia, Cambodia - Vietnam Friendship Year 2022 that marks the 55th anniversary of bilateral diplomatic relations (June 24), the two defenceministries have coordinated to hold many activities, including a celebration of the 45 years since Hun Sen, now the Prime Minister of Cambodia, started the path totopple the Pol Pot genocidal regime, and the first border defence friendship exchangebetween the nations, Giang went on.

The minister highlyvalued the close coordination between the countries’ authorities, affirmingthat the Vietnamese Ministry of National Defence always supports and createsthe best possible conditions for bilateral cooperation, thereby furtherintensifying the good neighbourliness, traditional friendship, comprehensivecooperation, and long-term sustainability between Vietnam and Cambodia.

For his part, Gen. Sante Chan Ean applauded the outcomes of cooperationbetween relevant agencies of the countries.

He alsothanked the Vietnamese ministry and Minister Giang for continually payingattention to and giving assistance to the Cambodian side./.
