Sen. Lt. Gen. Nguyen Chi Vinh, Deputy Defence Minister, received in Hanoi on May 9 Colonel Craig Stewart on the occasion of his taking office as New Zealand military attaché in Vietnam.
Vinh spoke highly of the bilateral defence cooperation over the recent past, especially in 2013 which saw many developments. The visits by defence ministers of the two countries have helped intensified the relations of cooperation and friendship, he said.
The officer also expressed sincere thanks to New Zealand for its support to Vietnam ’s viewpoints at multilateral forums.
For his part, Colonel Craig said he will try to accelerate the cooperation with Vietnam in English language training and sharing of experience in the United Nations’ peace-keeping missions.-VNA
