HCM City (VNA) -
Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Pham Binh Minh conducteda fact-finding tour on June 29 to the construction site of the Ben Thanh-SuoiTien metro line, one of the projects in HCM City using official developmentassistance (ODA).

He acknowledgedthe efforts of the city’s railway management board, experts, contractors, andconstruction units in ensuring progress of the project but also took note ofshortcomings in implementation.

He urgedthem to continue their endeavours and put the project into operation.

Bui XuanCuong, head of the railway management board, said 73.5 percent of the work hasbeen completed and contractors, engineers, and workers are striving to complete85 percent by the end of this year.

The greatestdifficulty at present is the impact of COVID-19, with experts returning home ornot being permitted to come to Vietnam, he noted.

He proposedthe government consider devising special mechanisms for the entry of expertsinto Vietnam, so that progress is no longer affected./.

Vietnamese students honoured at Asahi scholarship graduation ceremony in Japan

Vietnamese students achieved remarkable successes, excelling in various categories. Seven out of 22 students passed the N1 level of the Japanese Language Proficiency Test - the highest level - while 16 out of 34 students received the special award.
