The twoevents were hosted by the Vietnam Women’s Union (VWU) Central Committeein conjunction with the General Department of Politics of the VietnamPeople’s Army and the provincial Department of Culture, Sport andTourism.
At the exchange, participants shared theirmemories about the historic battle, underlining the importance of theyouth volunteers, transporting supplies to the battlefield.
The exhibition is displaying war keepsakes belonging to women whoexperienced the battle, reminding the public of their heroic struggle.
On the occasion, the VWU Central Committee presented 60 housesworth 1.2 billion VND (56,400 USD) to poor women in Dien Bien andnearly Lai Chau province and 12 gift packages costing over 1 million VND(about 47 USD) each to the mothers and wives of soldiers who lost theirlives during the country’s anti-French resistance war.-VNA
