Dien Bien Phu film week to be held in Laos

A film week celebrating the 60th anniversary of Dien Bien Phu victory (May 7) will be launched in the Lao capital Vientiane and Savannakhet province next week.
A film week celebrating the 60th anniversary of Dien Bien Phu victory(May 7) will be launched in the Lao capital Vientiane and Savannakhetprovince next week.

During the week from May 5, eight famousfilms about the Dien Bien Phu campaign will be screened, according to apress conference held for the event in Vientiane on April 29.

The features and documentaries will also be broadcast on Lao National TV, the organiser added.

Thefilm week is a chance for the Lao people and the Vietnamese communityin Laos to better understand the significance the Dien Bien Phuvictory, which put an end to the French colonial rule in Vietnam . Itwill also recall the solidarity and mutual assistance between the twopeoples during the anti-French resistance war.-VNA
