Southern Dong Nai province aims to create jobs for 90,000 labourers this year, according to the provincial Department of Labour, War Invalids and Social Affairs.

In the first six months this year, more than 47,000 people secured jobs, accounting for more than 52 percent of the year’s target.

Of them, 31,000 are employed by local enterprises. The rest acquired their positions through local socio-economic programmes, including poverty reduction initiatives and vocational training for rural labourers.

Currently, there are some 10,000 vacancies offered by local enterprises, such as at the Vietnam Dona Standard Footwear Company in Xuan Loc district, Taewang Vina in Bien Hoa city and the Hwaseung Vina in Nhon Trach district.

Statistics showed that the province has more than 850,000 workers. About half are working for foreign direct investment (FDI) enterprises, earning an average of nearly 5 million VND (230 USD) per month.

In the first half this year, more than 22,000 people were hired by FDI businesses thanks to their effective operations and expansion.-VNA
