DPRK Chairman Kim Jong-un arrives in Hanoi

Hanoi (VNA) – Chairman of the Workers’ Party of Korea (WPK) and the StateAffairs Commission of the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea (DPRK) KimJong-un and his entourage have arrived at Melia Hanoi Hotel after two and a halfhours moving from Dong Dang Station in the northern border province of LangSon.

The DPRK Chairman left Pyongyang on February 23 afternoon on a specialtrain for Vietnam where he will attend the second DPRK-USA Summit on February27 and 28.

He will also pay an official friendship visit to Vietnam at theinvitation of General Secretary of the Communist Party of Vietnam Central Committee(CPVCC) and President Nguyen Phu Trong.

The Korean Central News Agency (KCNA) had previously reported that theDPRK Chairman has been accompanied by senior DPRK officials, including hisyounger sister Kim Yo-jong, alternate member of the Political Bureau and DeputyDirector of the WPK Central Committee’s Propaganda and Agitation Department,and Vice Chairman of the WPK Central Committee Kim Yong-chol.

Juts after a short time, Vietnam has completed all necessarypreparations for the important event. Through the hosting of the summit, Hanoiwants to deliver a message of the “City for Peace” to the internationalcommunity.

The DPRK-USA Hanoi Summit Vietnam is an international event that hasdrawn much attention from the world as it directly related to peace building inthe region and there have been positive signals in the negotiation processsince the first summit in Singapore in June 2018.

Vietnamand the DPRK officially established diplomatic relations on January 31, 1950.Since then, Vietnam has always treasured the traditional friendship andcooperation with the DPRK.-VNA
