DPRK looks to boost trade union ties with Vietnam

The Democratic People’s Republic of Korea (DPRK) hopes to step up trade union friendships with Vietnam through pragmatic activities for the legal rights and interests of workers.

The Democratic People’s Republic of Korea (DPRK) hopes to step up trade union friendships with Vietnam through pragmatic activities for the legal rights and interests of workers.

It also aims to promote the traditional relations between the two countries and peoples, Vice Chairman of the General Federation of Trade Unions of Korea (GFTUK) Kim Tong Son told President of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labour (VGCL) Dang Ngoc Tung during their talks in Hanoi on September 7.

The two sides briefed each other socio-economic development and trade union activities in their respective countries as well as exchanged possible cooperation opportunities between the two sides.

President Tung expressed his pleasure to welcome Vice Chairman Kim Tong Son on his working visit to Vietnam from September 6-9, especially on the occasion of the 70th anniversary of Vietnam’s August Revolution (August 19) and National Day (September 2), 67th anniversary of the DPRK’s Independence Day (September 9), 70th founding anniversary of the Workers’ Party of Korea (WPK) (October 10), and the 65th founding anniversary of diplomatic ties between the two countries (January 31).

He suggested the two sides continue to increase high-level delegation exchanges between trade unions from different sectors and localities while enhancing friendship and cooperation in research, information sharing and personnel training, plus supporting each other at international forums./.

Vietnam, India enhance defence cooperation
