Hanoi (VNA) – The 15th National Assembly continued its eighth session on November 9 with discussions on the draft teachers’ law and the revised employment bill.
Legislators agreed with the Government’s proposal on the significance of the building of the draft teachers’ law, which aims at institutionalising the Party’s policy and perfecting the legal system to develop the educational staff.
Joining the group discussion in the afternoon, General Secretary of the Communist Party of Vietnam Central Committee To Lam stressed that the bill needs to properly recognise educators’ pivotal role, noting the life-long learning policy must be stipulated in the draft law.
It is necessary to address the teacher-student relationship, he said, highlighting the need to align the educational staff with Vietnam’s universal education goals.
Several legislators expressed their concern over the policy to attract human resources to the sector and suggested supplementing specific and feasible regulations on non-state actors in education.
The policymakers also gave opinions to the revised employment bill, with the focus on unemployment insurance and labour market information across industries and skill levels./.
