Hanoi (VNA) - The General Department of Politics of the Vietnam People's Army (VPA) held a press conference on November 12 to introduce activities to mark its 80th anniversary.
The activities will include compiling documents to popularise the General Department's 80-year tradition, a book on the agency's history, and a photo book highlighting its glorious journey. There is also a film screening, an exhibition featuring books, newspapers, and publications about the history of the department, and a ceremony to hand over the First-Class Independence Order to the agency.
Notably, a scientific workshop will be held in Hanoi on November 18, spotlighting the General Department's formation and development, and its significant contributions to the glorious revolutionary cause of the Party and the VPA.
The workshop is expected to contribute to drawing valuable lessons and improve the quality, effectiveness, and efficiency of the Party and political works, towards meeting the requirements of the building of lean, strong and modernity-oriented forces of the army. It will also promote education and raise awareness of the political system, the people, and the military about the function, task, and role of the General Department, and the political and Party work in ensuring the absolute, direct leadership in all aspects of the Party over the VPA./.
