NA Standing Committee to convene 39th session

The 39th session of the National Assembly (NA) Standing Committee will convene from November 14-15, according to the NA Office.

Hanoi (VNA) - The 39th session of the National Assembly (NA) Standing Committee will convene from November 14-15, according to the NA Office.

Chairman Tran Thanh Man will deliver the opening remarks and coordinate with Vice Chairmen to take turns overseeing the session’s progress.

At this session, the committee will give opinions on the explanation and acquirement of and amendments to several bills, including the Law on Value Added Tax (revised), the law on revising and supplementing a number of articles of the Law on Vietnam People's Army Officers, the Electricity Law, the Law on Public Investment (revised), and the Law on Health Insurance. Additional legislation under review comprises the Law on Notarisation, the Law on Geology and Minerals, and the Data Law.

Additionally, the committee will consider proposing to the National Assembly regarding the approval of the appointment of the judge of the Supreme People’s Court. It will also mull over passing a draft resolution on appointing members to the national council for judge selection and supervision.

With the supervisory work, it will examine several resolutions to carry out the Law on Organisation of People’s Court in 2024.

Notably, the arrangement of district and commune-level administrative units for 2023-2025 across 12 cities and provinces will be on the agenda./.
