Hanoi (VNA) – President of Egypt Abdel Fattahel-Sisi is paying a State visit to Vietnam from September 6 to 7 at theinvitation of his Vietnamese counterpart Tran Dai Quang.

The Egyptian leader is accompanied by ForeignMinister Sameh Shoukry, Chief of the President’s Office Moustafa Sherif,Minister of Investment and International Cooperation Sahar Nasr, Minister ofElectricity and Renewable Energy Mohamed Shaker, Minister of Trade and IndustryTarek Kabil, Minister of Transport Hesham Arafat, and Director of the GeneralIntelligence Directorate Khaled Fawzy, among others.

The first-ever State visit to Vietnam by anEgyptian president since the countries set up diplomatic ties in 1963 holdshistoric significance for bilateral relations, showing Egypt’s wish to enhancecooperation with the Southeast Asian nation.

The trip is an occasion for both sides todiscuss measures to intensify bilateral cooperation in different fields,including economy, trade, investment and other spheres they are strong at suchas agriculture, culture and tourism, while exchanging views on regional andinternational issues of shared concern.-VNA
