
Hanoi (VNA) - First-class healthcare facilities nationwide under the management of the health ministry arerequired to apply electronic health care records starting from March 1,according to a circular issued by the ministry.
Other health care facilities are required to apply the records before2028.
According to the circular, electronic medical records must include informationfrom old paper records and the signatures of people in charge of informationaccuracy.
Facilities must ensure personal information privacy as stated in the onlineinformation security law and update the records no later than 12 hours afterpatients have health checks or are hospitalised.
In case a check-up lasts more than 12 hours or a technical problem occurs, thedeadline for recording updates is no more than 24 hours.
The electronic medical record application will follow two periods. From 2019 to2023, first-class health care facilities must upgrade their systems to applythe technology. Other facilities should make preparations to get ready for theapplication.
From 2024 to 2028, all health care facilities across the country will have toreplace paper medical records with electronic ones.-VNA
