Prague (VNA) – The Vietnamese Embassy in theCzech Republic presented 4,000 medical face masks to the Vietnamese communityin the country amidst the developments of COVID-19 pandemic.
The face masks, part of medical equipment provided by the StateCommittee for Overseas Vietnamese Affairs to support Vietnamese community incentral and Eastern European countries, were given to people in crowded placeswith high risk of COVID-19 infection such as Sapa Trade Centre in Prague andtrade centres in border areas of Tachov and Folmava.
According to Vietnamese Ambassador to the Czech RepublicThai Xuan Dung, in the context of complicated developments of the pandemic, theVietnamese Embassy hopes to ease difficulties facing Vietnamese people in thecountry, especially business households.
He advised the community to continue applying preventivemeasures against COVID-19 pandemic, while strictly follow regulations in the hostcountry in the field, wearing face masks and protecting their health.
On behalf of the Vietnamese community in Tachov, Hoang VanPhu highly valued the gifts, describing it as the attention of the homeland tooverseas Vietnamese.
The Czech Republic’s Ministry of Health has reported over28,000 COVID-19 cases, including more than 400 deaths. Over 18,000 patientshave recovered.
During the last weekend, the infection cases reached a recordnumber with 800 cases reported on September 4./.
