An exhibition themed “Vietnam: The real war” featuring around 50 photos captured by Associated Press (AP) journalists during the Vietnam War opened in Hanoi on June 11.
The event exhibits the photos that gave the world a panorama of the resistance war to gain independence and freedom of the Vietnamese people that ended 40 years ago.
The highlights include Malcolm Browne’s photograph of the Venerable Thich Quang Duc who set himself on fire in a protest against the former Saigon government in 1963 and Nick Ut’s photo of a 9-year-old girl burned by napalm bomb in 1972.
Four Pulitzer prize-winning photographs also are on display.
The event will run until June 26.-VNA
