Exhibition on general election opens in Hanoi

An exhibition displaying almost 200 photos, documents and items on previous elections opened in Hanoi on April 29 to welcome the upcoming election to the National Assembly and the People’s Council at all levels.
An exhibition displaying almost 200 photos, documents and items on previous elections opened in Hanoi on April 29 to welcome the upcoming election to the National Assembly and the People’s Council at all levels.

The exhibition was jointly held by the National Assembly Office and the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism.

Addressing the opening ceremony, Nguyen Duc Kien, Vice Chairman of the National Assembly and member of the Election Council, stressed the political significance of the event, saying that it would help Vietnamese people to learn more about their glorious national history, the National Assembly and its role during the struggle for national liberation and reunification as well as the process of natural construction and defence.

Through some documents, the exhibition affirmed the important role of the late President Ho Chi Minh in the success of the first general election for the 1 st National Assembly.

It also introduced documents about completion of regulations for electing members of the National Assembly and the People’s Council at all levels in the tenure 2011-2016.

The exhibition will last until May 30./.
