Geneva (VNA) – Oversea Vietnamese in Switzerland have organised Vietnamese-language classes as a way of preserving Vietnamese culture.
In an interview with Vietnam News Agency correspondents in Switzerland, Dr. Hoang Van Khan, chairman of the Pacific Bridge Association, said the first Vietnamese-language class opened in 2005 with the assistance of the Vietnamese Ambassador, head of the Vietnamese delegation to the United Nations and World Trade Organisation and other international organisations in Geneva.
A few years later, some Vietnamese oversea and the Pacific Bridge Association established the Au Lac Viet School.
The school holds classes for both children and adults featuring courses in listening, speaking, reading and writing.
The course aims to educate on Vietnam’s unique cultural features like the Trong Dong (Bronze Drum) symbol or historic lessons on ancestors’ construction and protection of the country’s sovereignty.-VNA
Vietnam meets with WTO, Swiss customs-finance officials
A delegation of Vietnam's finance, customs and taxation officials has met with officials of the World Trade Organisation and the Swiss Federal Customs Administration and Federal Department of Finance.
