Exploring a primitive village in Son La province

Since Moc Chau district in the northern mountainous province of Son La was crowned Asia’s Leading Regional Nature Destination at the 2022 World Travel Awards, the number of visitors to the locality has been on the rise. One of the most popular local destinations is Hang Táu village, which remains almost untouched.

Located in Chieng Hac commune, Hang Tau village is one of the most pristine spots on Moc Chau plateau.

The village is a farming hub of about one hectare, and home to nearly 20 households from the Mong ethnic minority group.

The pristine beauty of the mountains and the peaceful lives of local people make Hang Tau an ideal place to explore.

Especially in the spring, visitors can readily find peach and plum blossoms on the way to the village.

Though the Hang Tau tourist site has been open for more than a year, people have preserved their traditional values.

Many tourists call Hang Tau “primitive” as there is no electricity, internet, or mobile signal. Local people use mountain water for daily use.

Each season, Hang Tau has its own beauty. With pristine nature, it is becoming an ideal destination to find tranquillity and peace of mind./.
