Farm, forestry, fisheries exports prosper

Vietnam’s export of agricultural, forestry and fisheries products reached 10.13 billion USD in the first seven months of this year, up by 14 percent over the same period last year.

The country’s export of its core agricultural products in the reviewperiod reached 5.35 billion USD, up by 8 percent year-on-year, while itsexport of fisheries and forestry products were 2.45 billion USD, up by12 percent and 1.9 billion USD, a rise of over 31 percent, respectively.

Rubberleads the list of the country’s main agricultural products exported inthe first seven months of this year, with 299,000 tonnes earning 821million USD, up by 71 percent in value and down by 10.4 percent involume over the same period last year. This is attributed to the rubberexport price doubling in the first five months to 2,744 USD per tonne incomparison with the same period last year.

It was followed bypepper at 87,000 tonnes worth 274 million USD, up by 5 percent in volumeand 42 percent in value thanks to a sharp increase in major marketssuch as the US with a rise of 58 percent and Germany at 56 percent. Theaverage price of exported pepper in the first half of this year grew byover 35 percent.

The export of other agricultural products suchas cashew nuts, tea and rice also saw positive outcomes. In the firstseven months of this year, the country exported 100,000 tonnes of cashewnuts worth 531 million USD, a year-on-year increase of 5.38 percent involume and 23 percent in value.

Tea accounted for 65,000 tonnes,worth 91 million USD, down by 4 percent in volume and up by 6 percent invalue due to Pakistan, Vietnam’s leading tea importer, taking only 60percent compared to the same period last year.

The country earned 2 billion USD from exporting 4 million tonnes of rice in the reviewed period, a drop of nearly 5 percent.

Coffeealso saw a reduction in both volume and value due to the export pricefalling by 6 percent. The country exported 754,000 tonnes, down by 4.3percent, earning about 1 billion USD, down by 9 percent in the reviewedperiod.

Regarding the export of fisheries products, shrimp leadthe list of the country’s key seafood exports with 717 million USD,accounting for 35 percent of the sector’s export turnover, followed bytra and basa fish with a turnover of 650 million USD.
The EUremained the country’s biggest export market for seafood with 512million USD in turnover. It was followed by Japan with 373 million USD.

In the first seven months of this year, Vietnam spent 7.52 billionUSD, 33 percent more than the same period last year, on importedagricultural, forestry and fisheries raw materials./.

Vietnam tightens rules on corporate bond issuance

Under Decree No 200/2026/ND-CP, enterprises issuing bonds will continue to operate under the principle of self-borrowing, self-repayment and self-responsibility, meaning issuers are fully accountable for the efficiency of capital use, debt repayment capacity and any disputes arising from bond issuance, use of funds, and payment of principal and interest.

The resolution encourages a wide range of cultural, artistic and tourism activities, including performances, exhibitions, film screenings, presentations of traditional and intangible cultural heritage, and other programmes held in public spaces, pedestrian streets, heritage sites, theatres, cinemas and cultural venues.
