Presidium, is on a visit to Cuba from Sept. 22-29.
On Sept. 25, the delegation had a working session with Jorge Martinez, Chairman of the Communist Party of Cuba (CPC) Central Committee’s Commission for External Relations.
Vu Xuan Hong, who is also President of the Vietnam Union of Friendship Organisations (VUFO), briefed his host about VUFO’s activities to support Cuba , particularly activities of the Vietnam-Cuba Friendship Association. He affirmed determination to further boost solidarity, friendship and cooperation between VUFO and the Cuban Institute for Friendship between Peoples (ICAP).
Hong also highly appreciated Cuba ’s revolutionary achievements and expressed his belief that under the leadership of the CPC, the Cuban people would gain greater victories in their national construction and defence.
Jorge Martinez informed Hong about the preparations for the CPC National Congress, including campaign for people’s opinions on national socio-economic development orientations in the future.
The same day, Hong also had a working session with ICAP President Kenia Serrano.
The two sides exchanged experiences in organisation of activities for foreign students and management of non-governmental organisations.
The Vietnamese delegation plans to attend a ceremony to mark the 49 th anniversary of the Committees for the Defense of the Revolution./.
