Festival serves up traditional cakes

A southern traditional cake festival is being organised for the third time in the Mekong Delta city of Can Tho’s Cai Khe Islet, with more than 100 kinds of traditional cakes on show made from rice, glutinous rice, and other ingredients available in the delta.

At thethree-day festival, which goes on until January 25, visitors can seeartisans make various kinds of cakes like bank tet (cylinder-shapedglutinous rice cake filled with green bean past and pork) and bank xeo(Vietnamese rice-flour pancake filled with green bean, bean sprouts,shrimp, and pork).

Visitors can also take part in a contest on traditional cakes.-VNA

Great National Unity Festival to be held abroad for first time

The festival aims to promote the traditions of the VFF, affirm the value of the great national unity bloc, and strengthen ties between Vietnamese communities abroad and the homeland. It is also intended to foster patriotism and national pride, encourage the preservation of the Vietnamese language and cultural identity, and inspire overseas Vietnamese (OVs) to contribute to national development.

Hanoi Jazztival 2026 seeks to expand space for Vietnamese jazz

A festival of this scale can provide more performance opportunities while enabling Vietnamese and international musicians and artists from different generations to meet, learn and connect. It can also bring jazz closer to audiences who may regard it as difficult to appreciate or suited only to a niche audience.
