Finnish firms seek opportunities in Ho Chi Minh City

Theongoing visit is to seek Vietnamese partners eligible in the fields tojoin the Finnish renovation programme in Vietnam, said Asko Peltola,South Ostrobothnia Mayor, while meeting with Chairman of the municipalPeople’s Committee Le Hoang Quan on March 5.

It isalso hoped to spur the trade partnership between Ho Chi Minh Cityand Finnish localities in the coming time, Quan told the guests.

Ho Chi Minh City will maximise its efforts to nurture the soundtraditional friendship and cooperation between Vietnam and Finland ,which are positively developing, Quan said.

Herecounted a wide range of activities in 2013 – the year marking the 40th anniversary of the bilateral diplomatic ties, such as Finland’sposter exhibition and workshops on education and trade cooperation.

The bilateral trade between Ho Chi Minh City and Finland hit 94.4 million USD in 2014.

Finland is running three investment projects worth 1.65 million USD in the city.-VNA

Japan’s research on non-edible oil feedstocks showed that Jatropha is highly drought-tolerant and could grow well on wasteland, eroded sandy land and infertile soil. Given this, areas in central Vietnam, including Ninh Thuan, Binh Thuan and the Central Highlands, have climatic, sunlight and soil conditions suitable for achieving high seed yields and oil content.
