At least seven people were killed and 23 others injured in a firefight between the government troops and the Abu Sayyaf Group (ASG) in the southern province of Sulu, the Philippines, on February 25.

The bloody firefight occurred in the morning of the day, killing five ASG members and injuring 14 others, according to Alan Arrojado, commander of the joint task group in Sulu.

Established in the early 1990s, the ASG has conducted the worst terrorism attacks in the history of the southern Philippines.-VNA
