Ambassadors of ASEAN member states participate in table tennis competition (Source: VNA) Moscow (VNA) – The embassies of ASEAN member states in Russia heldthe first ASEAN Family Day at the Hanoi-Moscow Trade Centre in the Russiancapital on December 2.
The event aimed to promote the cultures ofASEAN members and offer a chance for them to meet and tighten solidarity.
The event comprised of sport competitionsand art performances and introduced traditional dishes of ASEAN countries.
In his opening remarks, Vietnamese AmbassadorNgo Duc Manh hailed the significance of the event in the context that Russia isenhancing its relations with the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN)and Asia in general.
He expressed his hope that through thisexchange programme, the ASEAN community in Russia will grow further.
On this occasion, the diplomat introducedparticipants to a photo and document exhibition featuring the beauty of Vietnam’sseas and islands held by the embassy and the Vietnamese Ministry of Informationand Communications at the trade centre.
The ASEAN Family Day is held annually inVietnam and other countries around the world. This year, the Vietnamese Embassyin Russia held the event in Russia for the first time.-VNA
