Mexico (VNA) – TheASEAN Family Day 2018 was held in Mexico on April 7 with a view to fortifying the traditional friendship andcooperation between nations in the bloc as well as with the host country.
The event was co-hosted bythe Embassies of Malaysia, Indonesia, the Philippines, Thailand and Vietnam inMexico.
Speaking at the event, ThaiAmbassador Rommanee Kanaruak, who is the current chairman of the ASEANCommittee in Mexico (ACMC), highlighted the significance of exchange friendshipactivities in 2018.
He also called for allASEAN’s diplomatic representative agencies in Mexico to continue uniting andsupporting each other in order to prove the ASEAN’s spirit in all field.
Numerous activitiesincluding folk games and art performances were organised during the event while many traditional dishes wereoffered to participants. Vietnamese “nem ran” (fried spring roll) was a favouritedish among visitors.
Over the past years, the ACMC has conductednumerous charity activities and visits to Mexican states to foster all-aroundcooperation between ASEAN nations and the host country.-VNA
