First batch of ‘Dien’ pomelos exported to UK

London (VNA) – First ‘Dien’ pomelos from the northern province ofHoa Binh have been available on the shelves of Longdan supermarkets in the UK,receiving the welcome of the Vietnamese community in the country and local consumers.

The first batch of 11 tonnes of Dien pomelo from the YenThuy district was transported to the UK on February 9 by Longdan, the largestimporter of Vietnamese products in this country.

Earlier this month, Longdan also imported more than 5 tonnesof red-flesh pomelo from the province’s Tan Lac district.

In 2022, Longdan boosted the import of Vietnamese freshfruits such as green pomelo, Hung Yen longan, Bac Giang lychee. This year, thisgroup will continue to import Vietnamese specialties to the UK. Cao Phongorange, also from Hoa Binh, will be available in this market from the firstquarter of 2023.

Longdan has a dozen of supermarkets specialising in Asianproducts, of which Vietnamese goods account for about 30%./.

Vietnamese tech firm FPT expands footprint in France

According to Dang Tran Phuong, Deputy CEO of FPT Software in charge of the European and Middle Eastern markets, FPT considers France one of its key markets in Europe. CAAV proposes tax cuts, financial support for airlines

These include a proposal to exempt 100% of the environmental protection tax on aviation fuel until the end of May this year, and to add aviation fuel to the list of goods eligible for a reduced value-added tax (VAT) from 10% to a lower appropriate rate.

Total market sales by the end of February reached 46,153 units, up 39% compared with the same period last year.

VAMA auto sales fell sharply in February

Of the total sales, passenger cars accounted for the largest share with 12,376 units, down 53% month-on-month. Commercial vehicles followed with 6,542 units, a decrease of 37%, while 360 specialised vehicles were sold, down 22% from the previous month.
