First international hospital in Phu Quoc inaugurated

Real estate developer Vingroup inaugurated its Vinmec international general hospital on June 19 in Phu Quoc Island in southern Kien Giang province.
Real estate developer Vingroup inaugurated its Vinmec internationalgeneral hospital on June 19 in Phu Quoc Island in southern KienGiang province.

This is the firstinternational-standard hospital in the island providing high-qualitymedical services for both locals and tourists. The staff has beenrecruited from prestigious hospitals in Ho Chi Minh City, Can Thocity, Thua Thien-Hue province and Hanoi and includes a number offoreign medical professionals.

Its constructionbegan in July last year with a total investment of 1 trillion VND (45.9million USD) across 19,000 square metres. The six-storey hospital has150 beds, 11 functional rooms and advanced equipment.

Vinmec Phu Quoc hospital is expected to provide medical check-ups for26,000 people and medical treatment for over 4,000 people each year.

The hospital is also studying short-term insurance options for tourists to make them feel more secure on the island.

Phu Quoc, also known as Pearl Island, is the largest island inVietnam with a total area of about 580 square kilometres. RoK hospital provides medical checkups, equipment to Quang Ngai residents
