First phase of Duong River surface water plant inaugurated

At the inaugural ceremony (Photo: VNA)Hanoi (VNA) – The second component of Phase 1 of the Duong River surface water plant was inaugurated in Hanoi on September 5, capable of supplying 300,000 cubic metres of clean water for 3 million people in the capital.
The first component of Phase 1 of the project was put into operation in October 2018, supplying 150,000 cubic mertres of clean water per day for residents in Gia Lam, Dong Anh, Long Bien, Hoan Kiem, Hai Ba Trung, Hoang Mai, and Thanh Tri districts.
Addressing the event, Chairman of the municipal People’s Committee Nguyen Duc Chung said this is an outstanding project under the public-private partnership form.
Chung said Hanoi pledged to create the best conditions for the Duong River Surface Water Company - the investor of the project - to increase the capacity of the plant to 600,000 cubic meters per day by October 2023.
The project has been carried out since Mach 2016 under the PPP form.-VNA
