Hanoi (VNA) – Vietnam won 2 – 0 against Chinese Taipei in their opening match at the International U19 Football Tournament on April 11.
The first goal was scored by Nguyen Tuan Anh at the 16th minute when he sent a free kick to the high far corner of Chinese Taipei’s goalkeeper.
At the 75th minute, Bui Hoang Viet Anh made it 2 – 0 from a penalty shootout.
Hoang Anh Gia Lai, another team of Vietnam, played Korean team Gwangju on the same day. The match saw many missing goal opportunities and concluded with a 0 – 0 result.
The International U19 Football Tournament kicked off in Nha Trang city on April 11 with the participation of five teams, including those from Chinese Taipei, Myanmar and the Republic of Korea, and two teams of Vietnam.
It is jointly organised by the Thanh Nien Media Corporation and the Vietnam Football Federation and will run until April 22.-VNA
