Kuala Lumpur (VNA) - Five Malaysian sailors, reported missing from a tugboat off Lahad Datu waters on July 18, might have been kidnapped, according to Malaysian media.
The Star newspaper quoted Sabah Police Commissioner Abdul Rashid Harun as saying that Malaysian police do not rule out the possibility of the five being kidnapped.
He said that no calls were received by the families of the crew members of the tugboat, which was found in Sabah waters.
According to the newspaper, fears are growing that the five have been kidnapped by the Abu Sayyaf militant group in the southern Philippines.-VNA
