Under the strategy, signed by Deputy Prime Minister Vu DucDam, Vietnam sets out five groups of targets: providing high-qualityservices to society; expanding public engagement; improving state agencyoperations; effectively addressing important issues in socio-economic growth; making a breakthrough change in the national ranking for e-government, with the goal of bringingVietnam into the top 50 countries in the world in digital government,e-participation and open data.
To this end, the strategy identifies a number of key nationaltasks: improving the legal environment; developing digital infrastructure;developing digital platforms and national-scale systems; developing nationaldigital data; developing national applications and services; ensuring thesafety and security of the national network.
The strategy also outlines the role and responsibility ofministries, industries, and localities in promoting new digitaltechnologies such as Cloud Computing, Big Data, Mobility, Internet of Things(IoT), Artificial Intelligence (AI), Blockchain, and social media, in order tosave time and cost in building and operating information systems andautomating and optimising work processes./.
