More than 30,400 boats have received information on a tropical depression in the East Sea and guidance to safer places from the border guards of coastal provinces and cities from Quang Ninh to Khanh Hoa.
According to the Central Hydro-Meteorology Forecasting Centre, the depression is producing winds of 39-49km per hour. It was forecast to move northwest at a speed of 15km per hour, and its centre was expected to be 440 km east of Hoang Sa archipelago by 7am on July 30.
Strong winds, heavy rain and rough seas in the eastern part of the East Sea are also forecast.
As of July 29, flooding and heavy rains in northern provinces killed four people and injured three others. The disaster also damaged more than 100 houses and 2,700 hectares of crops.-VNA
