– A delegation from the Party, State, and Vietnam Fatherland Front on April 21 laid wreaths at the statue of Vladimir Ilyich Lenin in Hanoi’s Ba Dinh district, on the occasion of his 150th birthday anniversary (April 22, 1870).

The delegation was headed by Politburo member, Secretary of the Communist Party of Vietnam (CPV) Central Committee and Head of its Commission for Information and Education Vo Van Thuong. He was joined by Committee member and Deputy Prime Minister Trinh Dinh Dung.

Delegates recalled the great contributions by Lenin to the world and Vietnam's revolutionary causes, and expressed determination to continue his ideology and revolutionary path, as well as Marxism-Leninism and Ho Chi Minh ideology so as to build a beautiful and civilised Vietnam, contributing to the proletarian revolutionary cause.

The annual activity aims to commemorate Lenin, one of the most eminent political figures and revolutionary thinkers of the 20th century.

Lenin masterminded the Bolshevik take-over of power in Russia in 1917. He was the architect and first leader of the former Union of Soviet Socialist Republics. He was also a great teacher of workers worldwide./.
