Vietnam would cooperate closely with Cambodia during Cambodia’s ASEAN presidency next year, said Foreign Minister Pham Binh Minh in HCM City on March 8.
Minh told visiting Secretary of State of the Cambodian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation Ung Sean that he highly appreciates the cooperation between the two ministries in the implementation of high level agreements, which has contributed to enhancing and boosting bilateral relations.
He urged for further cooperation between the two foreign ministries, especially during Vietnam-Cambodia Friendship Year 2012 and celebration of the 45th year of diplomatic relations next year.
A two-day meeting between the ministries, held in Ba Ria-Vung Tau province, ended on March 7. The two sides reviewed cooperation activities and discussed recent regional and international issues.
Also on March 8, senior Vietnamese and Cambodian officials met in HCM City to prepare for the 7th meeting on Cooperation and Development between border provinces of Cambodia and Vietnam, scheduled for March 9./.
