Football event held for disadvantaged children

The Football for All in Vietnam (FFAV) programme, funded by the Norway Football Federation, organised its third community football tournament for children.
The Football for All in Vietnam (FFAV) programme, funded by the NorwayFootball Federation, organised its third community football tournamentfor children.

The tournament, which took placefrom June 2-6 in Hue city of the central province of Thua Thien Hue,attracted 357 football teams and 3,533 children aged from 6 to 15 anddisabled children from clubs under the FFAV project.

Tournament attendees also include children with disabilities fromsocial welfare centres in the province, 16 inviting teams from all overthe country, two teams from Laos and one from Cambodia.

The teams played 1,400 matches in total at stadiums across the city.The participating children were also given training in life skills andoffered trips to famous tourist sites in the city.

Since 2003, the FFAV programme has been implemented in ninedistricts, cities and towns in Thua Thien Hue and Do Son District in HaiPhong city, gathering 17,500 children in 171 football clubs in total.-VNA

Vinh Phuc to host international women's volleyball tournament

Eight teams will join the tournament, divided into two groups. Group A features Vietnam, the Philippines, Sichuan Club (China), and Australia, while Group B consists of Vietnam U21, Korabelka Club (Russia), Taiwan (China), and U21 Thailand.

Vietnam to host U17, U23 Asian Wrestling Championships for first time

The U23 competition will run from June 16 to 22, followed by the U17 event from June 23 to 28, while athletes competing in the U23 category will undergo weight and skill checks ahead of the matches starting June 18, while similar checks for U17 athletes will take place before June 23.
