Police in Ninh Binh province have decided to start legal proceedings against two footballers who play for Vissai Ninh Binh FC, after charging the duo with betting on a match at the Asian Football Confederation Cup last month.
Nguyen Manh Dung, born in 1980 in Hai Phong port city, and Tran Manh Dung, born in 1990 in Nam Dinh province, were seized on April 29 and will be detained for three months to serve for investigation work.
They are said to have involved in a match fixing scandal involving the cup tie between Vissai Ninh Binh and Malaysia’s Kelantan held on March 18, 2014.-VNA
