AlgerianPresident Abdelaziz Bouteflika extended condolences to President TruongTan Sang, emphasising the deceased’s name will remain in the Algerianpeople’s memory.

This is a great loss to not only Vietnamese, but also for Algerians, the President said in his message.

InCuban veteran journalist Marta Rojas’s eyes, General Giap is both abrilliant military strategist and a modest, simple, kind-hearted andhumane man.

The journalist, who came to Vietnam many times toreport on the American war, said she was saddened by the death ofthe General and felt she had lost a relative.

Meanwhile, ChiaTeck Keng, Vice President of the Singapore Veteran Association,expressed his respect for the deceased, calling him an iconic general forall military strategists.-VNA
