Leaders of Malaysia, Switzerland, Kazakhstan and Azerbaijan have extended congratulations to Vietnamese leaders on the country’s 74th National Day (Sept. 2).

Hanoi (VNA) – Leadersof Malaysia, Switzerland, Kazakhstan and Azerbaijan have extendedcongratulations to Vietnamese leaders on the country’s 74th National Day (Sept.2).

Malaysian King Al-Sultan AbdullahRi’ayatuddin Al-Mustafa Billah Shah Ibni Sultan Haji Ahmad Shah Al Musta’inBillah sent a congratulatory letter to Party General Secretary and PresidentNguyen Phu Trong.

In the letter, the King stressed thatthe Vietnam-Malaysia strategic partnership has been developing fruitfully and willbe further strengthened in the coming time. He expressed his belief thatVietnam will successfully fulfill its roles as Chair of the Association ofSoutheast Asian Nations (ASEAN) in 2020 and a non-permanent member of the UNSecurity Council for the 2020-2021 tenure.

Swiss President Ueli Maurer and KazakhPresident Kassym-Jomart Tokayev also sent messages of greetings to PartyGeneral Secretary and President Nguyen Phu Trong.

Azerbaijani Prime Minister NovruzMammadov cabled a message of congratulations to his Vietnamese counterpartNguyen Xuan Phuc.

Meanwhile, Malaysian ForeignMinister Saifuddin Abdullah and Swiss Foreign Minister Ignazio Cassis also sentmessages of congratulations to Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minster PhamBinh Minh.-VNA

In particular, the Politburo recently issued Resolution No. 23-NQ/TW on overseas Vietnamese affairs, General Secretary and President To Lam, emphasising that in the time ahead, the Party and State will continue to improve institutions, and adopt comprehensive, open and breakthrough mechanisms and policies to connect with, attract and effectively mobilise the resources of overseas Vietnamese, particularly intellectuals, experts, entrepreneurs, scientists and young people.
