Foreign ship arrivals in Vietnam’s seaports rise 30 percent

The number of foreign ship arrivals in Vietnam’s seaports topped 59,100 in the first 10 months of 2021, up 30 percent year on year, according to the Vietnam Maritime Administration.

Hanoi (VNA) –The number of foreign ship arrivals in Vietnam’s seaports topped 59,100 in thefirst 10 months of 2021, up 30 percent year on year, according to the VietnamMaritime Administration.

Most of the foreign vesselsare small ones, with capacity of less than 200 DWT, operating in the northernprovince of Quang Ninh.

Meanwhile, the number ofVietnam-flagged vessels rose slightly, by 3 percent, with more than 52,500arrivals.

In contrast, arrivals by inlandwaterway vehicles declined by 6 percent to 292,300 as a result of the COVID-19pandemic’s impacts.

The number of river - sea compatibleship (VR-SB) arrivals at seaports in Vietnam stands at 40,558, equivalent tolast year’s level.

The Vietnam MaritimeAdministration said total cargo throughput at Vietnamese seaports exceeded 588million tonnes during the reviewed period, up 3 percent from a year earlier. Inparticular, the volume of container goods grew 10 percent to over 20 millionTEUs./.

First “green lane” durian shipment exported to China

​Under the “green lane” process, quality control begins at the cultivation stage, including soil sampling and monitoring, and continues through harvesting and processing, with traceability labels attached to trees and applied to fruit at the time of picking. It also allows plant quarantine procedures and the issuance of certificates of origin (C/O) directly in the localities where the orchards are located.
