Vietnam welcomed over 626,300 foreign visitors in September, up 8.3 percent from the same period last year, according to the General Statistics Office of Vietnam.
The figure raised the number of foreign visitors to Vietnam in the first nine months of 2015 to over 5.68 million.
The country saw a dramatic rise in the number of tourists from the Republic of Korea, with 59.2 percent, while those from Hong Kong (China) grew by 17.3 percent and Singapore by 16.9 percent.
It faced visitor declines in several markets, including Cambodia with 43.5 percent, Thailand with 27.6 percent, Laos with 25.9 and China with 18.2 percent.
According to the Vietnam National Administration of Tourism, the nine-month revenues from the tourism sector reached more than 269 trillion VND (12.22 billion USD), up 2.8 percent from the same period a year ago.-VNA
