Foreign tourists to Vietnam surge 73.6% in January
Thanks to widespread tourism promotional policies, coupled with Vietnam’s reputation as a safe destination, international tourist arrivals in January 2024 stood at over 1.5 million, an increase of 73.6% compared to January 2023.
Vietnam welcomed over 15,000 foreign tourists in November, up 42.4 percent from the figure in October, the General Statistics Office announced on November 29.
After reopening for a month post COVID-19 and only minimal improvement in tourism numbers, Hanoi-based relic sites are going the extra mile to welcome back foreign guests.
Vietnam welcomed 3.7 million foreign visitors in the first four months of the year, registering a 19.2-fold increase from the same period last year, according to the General Statistics Office of Vietnam.
The number of tourists to the capital city of Hanoi hit 18.9 million in the first nine months of 2023, up 36.5% year-on-year, according to the municipal Department of Tourism.
