Hanoi (VNA) – Party General Secretary and President Nguyen Phu Trong onJanuary 8 presented a 60-year Party membership badge to former President TranDuc Luong.

Onthis occasion, the top leader also handed over a 40-year Party membership badgeto Vice President Dang Thi Ngoc Thinh.

Theaward ceremony in Hanoi saw the attendance incumbent and former leaders, andrelatives of former President Luong and Vice President Thinh.

FormerPresidents Nguyen Minh Triet and Truong Tan Sang, and former Vice PresidentNguyen Thi Binh sent baskets of flowers to the awardees.  

Thebadge demonstrates the Party’s recognition of great achievements and devotion byformer President Luong and Vice President Thinh to revolutionary activities,said Son Minh Thang, Secretary of the Party Committee of the Central AgenciesBloc.

Inhis remarks, former President Luong expressed his pride of being a Party memberand his delight at significant achievements Vietnam has recorded acrossspheres.

Theformer leader said he hopes that the Party will continue to lead Vietnamesepeople in order to advance the country to a new high./.

Vietnam always treasures bilateral relations with Croatia: FM

Vietnam, Croatia seek stronger law enforcement cooperation

Indian Defence Minister pays official visit to Vietnam

Following the ceremony, the two sides held talks during which the Vietnamese minister emphasised the significance of the visit as the two countries celebrate the 10th anniversary of their Comprehensive Strategic Partnership and recently upgraded ties to an Enhanced Comprehensive Strategic Partnership under the spirit of “Shared Vision, Strategic Convergence and Substantive Cooperation,” during the state visit to India by Party General Secretary and State President To Lam from May 5-8.
