The third forum of young Vietnamese intellectuals across the globe, themed Vietnam in 2045, took place on November 21 with the participation of 206 people under 35 in Vietnam and overseas.

– The third forum of youngVietnamese intellectuals across the globe, themed Vietnam in 2045, took placeon November 21 with the participation of 206 people under 35 in Vietnam andoverseas.

First Secretary of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union(HCYU) Central Committee Nguyen Anh Tuan said the event continues workingtoward the goal of consolidating a network of  young Vietnamese intellectuals and creating anenvironment for them to discuss their potential contribution to the nationaldevelopment and integration, helping the Party and State realise the socio-economicdevelopment goals set for 2045 which marks the 100th foundinganniversary of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam.

At the forum, participants’ discussion revolved around arange of topics, including the improvement of living standards, the promotion ofcultural value, and the application of science and technology in nationaldevelopment, among others.

In a bid to make human capacity development part of economicgrowth, Tran Ngo Duc Tho, 35, a research fellow in urban planning anddevelopment at the US’s Texas A&M University, suggested the VietnameseGovernment improve growth engines, encourage people from all walks of life toengage in growth effort, and redistribute growth achievements among people andregions in the nation.

Pham Hoang Cam Huong from the Hue College of Economicshighlighted self-learning spirit of youths to help turn themselves into part ofa high-quality workforce serving the national industrialisation, modernisationand integration.

All participants’ recommendations and feedback werecollected for submission to related competent agencies./.

Coast Guard Region 2 promotes IUU-free fishing among Quang Ngai fishermen

The Command of Coast Guard Region 2 briefed the fishermen on the Law of the Sea of Vietnam, the Fisheries Law, and legal documents related to IUU prevention. Officers also provided guidance on identifying areas under Vietnam’s sovereignty and jurisdiction, traditional fishing grounds, warning zones, and prohibited fishing areas.
